Fine City Fine Art

Charity Exhibition & Online Auction (Crypt Gallery, Norwich School)

Exhibition Curation, Project Management & Design Assistance

About the project
Fine City Fine Art was a charity exhibition and online auction showcasing work from over 60 artists connected to the local region. I was brought on to project manage and curate the exhibition, coordinating the selection, organisation, and presentation of a diverse collection across multiple mediums. I also created social media posts and fed into the catalogue design.

Hosted at the Crypt Gallery, Norwich School, the exhibition featured work from established artists such as Susan Gunn, Colin Self, John Kiki, and sculptor Vanessa Pooley alongside emerging artists and talented amateurs. Running alongside the physical exhibition, an online auction raised funds for Keeping Abreast, a Norwich-based breast cancer reconstructive support charity.

Considerations

  • Curating a cohesive exhibition from a wide range of styles and mediums, ensuring the overall show felt intentional rather than fragmented.

  • Representing over 60 artists fairly, balancing well-known names with emerging artists and talented amateurs so the exhibition felt inclusive and community-led.

  • Shaping the narrative and tone, making the exhibition feel celebratory and uplifting while still clearly communicating its charitable purpose.

  • Working across two formats, ensuring the gallery experience and online auction complemented each other and shared consistent messaging.

  • Feeding curatorial decisions into the online catalogue design, helping structure how artworks were grouped, described, and presented so the digital experience felt clear, coherent, and easy to browse.

  • Creating social media content to promote the auction, designing posts that highlighted individual works and artists while driving awareness and encouraging bidding.

  • Responding to the Crypt Gallery setting, considering how layout, flow, and pacing would work in a unique, atmospheric space.

An amazing eclectic mix of Norfolk Art. It is great that such talented artists freely submit their work for such a worthy cause.

Outcome

The exhibition successfully showcased the depth of artistic talent in the region while supporting an important local charity. By pairing a strong physical display with an accessible online auction, Fine City Fine Art created multiple ways for audiences to engage — whether through visiting, sharing, bidding, or donating — and strengthened community connection around both art and advocacy.
