Food Stories was a touring exhibition celebrating East Anglian recipes, cooking, farming, and dialect words passed down through generations. Visitors were invited to gather around a table and share memories, stories, and conversations about food and language.
I led the exhibition’s design and interpretation, curating objects, researching stories, and writing all interpretation. I designed the logo, branded marketing materials, exhibition graphics, and even dinner plates featuring stories. I sourced a portable farm table to create the feel of sitting at your grandparents’ table and developed an interactive audio-visual system, letting visitors select recordings while engaging with objects that linked to the stories.
The exhibition drew on oral histories and dialect studies from the University of Leeds’ Survey of English Dialects (1946–1978) and toured 20 locations in Spring 2022, creating a tactile, visual, and auditory experience that connected visitors with East Anglia’s culinary and linguistic heritage.
